Former Super Eagles assistant coach, Godwin Koko Uwua, last night left for Cologne, Germany for a three week coaching course.
The Niger Tornadoes technical adviser is among the five coaches nominated by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for the refresher course sponsored by the German football federation, Deutscher Fußball-Bund eV. (DFB).
“I will be leaving Nigeria through the Murtala Mohammed International Airport on Monday (yesterday) for a three-week coaching course in Cologne, Germany,” he said.
The former Flying Eagles coach expressed appreciation to the NFF for nominating alongside four others for the course as well as the management of Niger Tornadoes for releasing him even when the league is at a crucial stage.
“I want to thank the NFF for looking at my way, for nominating me for this course among the several qualified coaches in Nigeria. I am grateful for the opportunity.
“But my most sincere appreciation goes to my management at Niger Tornadoes. This course was planned for the end of the season in Nigeria but because of the crisis, the league was suspended and I just have to attend the course.”
I was afraid really that I might not make the trip but the management of Tornadoes was magnanimous to allow be travel, even when the league is at a crucial stage and we are pursuing promotion. I am grateful to them,” he said.
