THE Department of State Security (DSS) in Benue State, has expressed doubt over the success of 2015 general election in the state, except arms are withdrawn from the circulation.
This was the submission of DSS at a meeting organised by the state directorate of National Orientation Agency (NOA), just as the police expressed assurance on the success of general election in the state.
The police authority said that the election would be the best ever, even as the DSS insisted that unless arms in circulation were withdrawn, it might be bloody.
Political parties as well as politicians in the state, however, shunned the meeting.
In his speech, the state Director, NOA, Andy Yough, said that the meeting was aimed at mobilising people to ensure that communities in the state were properly secured during the 2015 elections.
State commissioner of police, Hycinth Dagala, said the police had mapped out plans that would lead to successful elections.
