PDP Thugs, BENSESA Officials Clash Over Billboards

There was pandemonium in Makurdi, Benue State capital when unidentified thugs believed to be supporters of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) clashed with the officials of the Benue State Environmental and Sanitation Agency (BENSESA) over the removal of campaign posters and billboards of governorship aspirants.

The ugly incident, which occurred at the weekend happened at noon when the BENSESA personnel, without prior notice embarked on “operation remove illegally placed posters and billboards” on the roundabouts and walk ways.

LEADERSHIP investigation revealed that the government officials destroyed some of the billboards with pictures of governorship aspirants, parked them into an operational hilux van and zoomed off.

Although it is true that the disorganized placement of the political campaign billboards of various governorship contenders, on the roundabouts and major township roads has affected the beauty of the mega town, obviously making the strategic points look very unattractive.
