ONE Msonga Orsuur of Aterayange village in Ukum Local Council of Benue State is cooling his feet in the police custody for allegedly killing one Anyom Mtseikyaa over missing handset charger.
The Guardian investigation revealed that the accused allegedly carried out the heinous act Tuesday when he went to charge his handset at the victim’s business centre but could not see his battery charger.
According to a source, who pleaded anonymity, consequently, a heated disagreement ensued between them and the victim was allegedly shot dead by the accused.
While confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, S.P. Daniel Ezeala, said the accused had been arrested and would be charged to court as soon as investigation was completed.
He warned the people against jungle justice.
In a related development, the police in Makurdi have arrested three armed robbers that specialize in stealing from bank customers who withdraw money from the banks in the capital city.
The Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ezeala said the three suspects: Tivlumun Chia, Kuhe Ityowua and Paul Nyize were arrested last Friday following a tip-off.
Ezeala explained that the suspects allegedly attacked one Blessing Amaka who withdrew N15, 000 from a bank along Otukpo Road.
The PPRO said his men arrested the robbers at P. Kura Filling Station located on Otukpo Road in Makurdi.
He advised bank customers who withdraw huge sums of money to always engage the services of police escort van for safety. He further encouraged members of the public to be vigilant as well as report any suspected movement to the police during the ember months for immediate action.
