FORMER Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Mr David Iorhemba, has withdrawn from the governorship race.
Iorhemba, who said he took the decision last Wednesday in Makurdi, told journalists that his action was in due respect to the earlier decision of Tor Tiv, Dr. Alfred Akawe Torkula, the Forum of all the Uter inTiv land as well as the position taken by MINDA PDP Elders Forum.
He also said after intense consultation with Gov. Gabriel Suswam, the Senate President and other political stakeholders in the PDP on the matter, he thought it wise to voluntary pull out of the race.
Iorhemba further posited that his action was also in consonance with his spirit as a loyal party man who is ready to listen to advises and promised to work with any governorship aspirant that shall be nominated at the forthcoming party primaries.
