The Benue State Government has signed Memorandum of Understanding for the River Katsina-Ala Hybrid Electric Power Scheme with Damtech Nigeria Limited.
Works, Transport and Energy Commissioner, Hon. Emmanuel Manger who signed on behalf of the State Government stated that this was in fulfilment of Governor Samuel Ortom’s desire to industrialise the state through provision of adequate power supply for industrial, domestic use and business activities.
The Commissioner further stated that the actualisation of the Project is paramount as it would improve power supply in the state which at present is less than 40MW as against the needed 300MW.
He assured the company of Government commitment to provide the needed support for the success of the project and urged them to hasten the process in order to justify the confidence reposed in them.
Engr. Solomon Mshelburala, who is the Managing Director of the Company who signed for the company promised to provide the necessary inputs and expertise needed to ensure the success of the project. He also promised to justify the confidence reposed in them and thanked the Governor and Benue people for giving them the opportunity to serve.
The MoU was witnessed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Mr. Ityosange Akaagerger in the presence of the Director of Electrical Engineering, Engr. Daniel Aernan.
