BENUE state chapter of the Motor Dealers Association of Nigeria (MODAN) has expressed its desire to partner the police and other law enforcement agents to flush out roadside vendors from the state
Describing the some of the roadside motor dealers as fraudsters, the state chairman of MODAN Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Bello warned intending motor buyers in the state to desist from patronizing roadside vendors to avoid being duped.
In an interview with The Guardian, he admonished intending buyers in the state to patronized registered dealers to avoid buying stolen vehicles
“We have been getting challenges with unregistered car dealers that get involve in car selling business in the state. Most of them bring cars from outside the state some of which are stolen ones to sell to unsuspecting members of the public. But, if you buy from registered car dealers, you will not have such issues,” he maintained.
He called on those wishing to deal in vehicle selling business to register with the association, warning that it will not entertain complaints from victims that go all out to deal with fake vendors.
The chairman also intimated that the association has over the years been able to served as veritable source of employment and empowerment to many people in the state; noting that most of them who started as car washers across the state eventually graduated to become dealers
