Ban on Okada stands -Benue Commissioner of Police

The new Benue State Commissioner of Police Benue, Mr. Hyacinth Ndagala, has said the ban on motorcycle popularly referred to as Okada stands.

He also said the command under him will not condone extortion by officer.

Ndagala stated this in Makurdi the state capital while speaking with our correspondent on his strategies of how to curb crime in the state.

“From experience we discovered that motorcycles are usually used by criminals at night and the police will not spear anyone found violating the Okada ban law in Makurdi the metropolis,” he said.

The CP maintained that extortion will become a thing of the past in Benue as erring officers will be punish to serve as deterrent.

Ndagala however appeal to members of the public to take advantage of the distress call unit formed by the command to report any criminal activity in the state.
