Aftermath Of Gov Primaries: I’ll Remain In PDP, Says Lawani

Deputy Governor of Benue State, Chief Stephen Lawani, has debunked speculation in some quarters that he may dump the Peoples Democratic Party following his defeat at the governorship primaries in the state.

Lawani, who did not have his boss, Governor Gabriel Suswam’s blessings to succeed him, lost the PDP governorship primaries in the state to Speaker of the House of Assembly, Terhemen Tarzoor.

In a terse statement on Tuesday in reaction to the rumours of his impending defection, the deputy governor said, “I remain in the PDP and going nowhere”.

He also appealed to the people of the state not to spread false information that could scuttle the chances of the party in the 2015 general elections.
