The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom has charged people of the state to always appreciate God for oiling the wheels of progress in the affairs of the state.
The Governor gave the charge yesterday while speaking at the interdenominational night of praise organized by Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the state Government at IBB Square, Makurdi. He said that there was every need for the people to give thanks to God for reducing in the state ugly trends such as kidnapping, assassination and farmers-herders crisis as well as other criminal activities. He further stressed that God’s intervention in the affairs of the state was as a result of the earlier dedication of the state to Him.
Governor Ortom maintained that he would continue to rule Benue State with the fear of God. He further commended CAN for forging unity among the churches irrespective of the diverse doctrines.
Responding, the Chairman of CAN, Reverend Augustine Akpen Leva thanked the Governor for supporting the programme, and also solicited the people’s cooperation to enable the association carry out its activities successfully even this year
